Description: The helmet messages characterize the caustic attitude of so many young American soldiers who were sent to the jungle of Southeast Asia to face a deadly and terrifying fight. Many of them have written on their helmets their attitudes, where they were or why they were there. The Vietnam War was an armed conflict fought in Vietnam between 1955 (date of establishment of the National Liberation Front pro-communist) and 1975 (with the fall of Saigon). The conflict took place mainly in the territory of South Vietnam and saw the pro-communist insurrectional forces set up against the pro-communist authoritarian government United States constituted in South Vietnam–and the government forces of the so-called Republic of Vietnam–created after the Geneva Conference in 1954, following the Indochina War against the French occupation.
